Hamburger Patties

Hamburger Patties

Visits to my sister in Lancaster have begun to incorporate a meal of home-grilled burger patties made with local ingredients. DELISH.


Ingredients for patties:

  • 3 lbs beef
  • 1 small onion (or half a large one)
  • ½ bulb of garlic
  • 1.5 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp pepper

For the burger:

  • Buns
  • Desired condiments
  • Desired burger toppings (cucumbers, tomato, onion, etc)

Directions:

  1. Peel the garlic. Mince garlic and onion fine
  2. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl.
  3. Form patties about the size of the palm of your hand.
  4. Heat charcoal grill 450-500 degrees.
    a. Rare: 4 minutes
    b. Medium-rare: 5 minutes
    c. Medium: 6-7 minutes
    d. Well-done: 8-9
  5. Flip burgers at least once while cooking, or several times.
  6. Toast buns on an upper rack for a couple of minutes.
  7. Enjoy!
