Hamburger Patties
Visits to my sister in Lancaster have begun to incorporate a meal of home-grilled burger patties made with local ingredients. DELISH.
Ingredients for patties:
- 3 lbs beef
- 1 small onion (or half a large one)
- ½ bulb of garlic
- 1.5 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp pepper
For the burger:
- Buns
- Desired condiments
- Desired burger toppings (cucumbers, tomato, onion, etc)
Directions:
- Peel the garlic. Mince garlic and onion fine
- Mix all ingredients in a large bowl.
- Form patties about the size of the palm of your hand.
- Heat charcoal grill 450-500 degrees.
a. Rare: 4 minutes
b. Medium-rare: 5 minutes
c. Medium: 6-7 minutes
d. Well-done: 8-9 - Flip burgers at least once while cooking, or several times.
- Toast buns on an upper rack for a couple of minutes.
